Sunset on Karkai Mountain

TAXI! : CLIMBING IN INDIA

This image was taken at the start of the trek around Karaki Mountain.

The journey to get here from Mumbai was a 3 hour train ride, followed by a 4 hour taxi ride, followed by a uncomfortably hot and cramped final 20 minute drive in the back of this van.  All of this before a day’s trek to the top of the mountain in 30° heat.

After dropping the 6 of us off at the base of […]

DAY OF THE DEAD : SPECTRE (BOND 24) (2015)

During my stay at ILM, I used their in-house specific Camera and Lighting pipeline while working on Spectre, the latest Bond film.

Based on the book ‘Pollen’ by A.D Lamb, I wanted to introduce and get the audience to ask questions about the tense world, themes and characters in this ‘proof of concept’ short film.

After reading the book, I quickly put together a script […]

Mount Ruapehu

MOUNT RUAPEHU : AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

A view of Mount Ruapehu from the top of Mount Ngauruhoe in Taupo, New Zealand.

The mountain climb itself took about 4 and a half hours.  It was so steep and with loose rocks making our feet sink into the mountain like quicksand, we were all climbing on our hands and knees near the summit, however, the views at the top were more than worth the effort.

This image is a panoramic composite of 3 […]

TUMBLE TIME : AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

This image was taken near the end of my trip around New Zealand.

In the beginning of the trip we asked where the best place was to do a skydive.  The response was unanimous.  Wanaka on the South Island.  After 6 weeks of travelling around the North and South Island, it was time to take the plunge.

Due to weather conditions, and having to cram in a few activities, we ended up doing […]
